Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates Program
The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates Program (also known as HEAR) will provide rebates to low- and moderate-income households to install specific eligible high-efficiency electric appliances and associated upgrades.

Eligible Projects
The new electric appliances must replace existing non-electric appliances, be first-time purchases, or be installed in new construction homes.

Low & Moderate Income
Rebates are available to low- and moderate-income households.

Rebate Amount
HEAR Program participants could receive between 50 to 100 percent of project costs up to $14,000, depending on the energy upgrades completed and the household's income.

In-Store Coupons
HEAR rebate coupons will be available for use at participating retail locations across the state with purchase of a qualifying appliance beginning fall 2026.
Rebate Amounts
The maximum rebate amount per project is $14,000. We have reserved 60 percent of funding for low-income households and an additional 20 percent for low-income multifamily households.

Area Median Income is established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the most recent tax year, and the limits are established according to county and household size. We will share a table of current limits when applications are open.
A low-income single-family household has income less than 80 percent of the area median income.
A moderate-income single-family household has income of at least 80 percent area median income.
A multifamily building requires at least 50 percent of households to meet the above criteria.
